Job Title: Apprentice- Painter and DecoratorRate of Pay: £7.55 per hour Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time Total Weekly Contractual Hours: 39Location: Mitie Painting, North West Region
We are seeking an Apprentice Painter and Decorator to join our team, where you will receive training to perform various tasks effectively. The role involves internal and external painting and decorating as directed by management, including preparation work to walls, minor repairs to surfaces and structures, and using relevant tools and equipment safely. You will be responsible for erecting access equipment with appropriate training, setting up access plant and temporary screening as needed, and monitoring decorating material stock to request replacements as required.
In terms of client and customer relations, you will respond promptly to verbal and written tasks, ensure all painting and decorating work is completed to a high standard, support and contribute to projects, and inform your line manager of any complaints or discrepancies. Operationally, you will ensure all tasks are completed within the approved budget, utilize and maintain painting and decorating equipment properly to avoid wastage, complete and return time sheets accurately, and adhere to local procedures and site management protocols.
The ideal candidate will be organized, self-motivated, and a team player with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and compliance issues. A good knowledge of Health and Safety, a positive attitude with a "Can Do" approach, and excellent customer service skills are essential. You should be capable of performing all duties associated with the role and be prepared to attend college to work towards a recognized qualification in Painting and Decorating.
