Summary

Hillcrest Homes is recruiting for a Community Engagement Worker.

This is a part-time position working 18 hours per week. The hours will be worked over 3 days between Monday and Friday.

We are recruiting for a part-time Community Engagement Worker for Helping Our People Engage (HOPE), the project is funded by Dundee City Council and is a partnership with Caledonia Homes.

About the Department
This post is part of the Tenant Service Team in the Housing Department based in our headquarters in Dundee.

About the Role
The Community Engagement Worker will support adults from age 16 affected by vulnerability or frailty residing in Dundee through a holistic needs assessment. The project works closely with a wide range of services and organisations to provide positive outcomes for service users and help maintain independent living.

Key areas of support include (but are not limited to) advice and signposting on: social isolation, housing options, initial benefit checks, health improvements and safety in the home.


The role involves:

• Managing referrals and recording outcomes
• Providing feedback to referrers and stakeholders
• Offering signposting to both the public and professionals
• Building strong knowledge of community, statutory and third party sector

Referrals are accepted from the public, housing associations, Dundee City Council, health and social care teams and community services.

About You
You Will

• Have excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to effectively manage caseload and prioritise referrals
• Previous experience in dealing with financial welfare, housing, social isolation
• Have experience of using IT applications, in particular Microsoft packages and the ability to learn new computer systems
