Summary

SEN learning base support assistant (LBSA), the post will be linked to high needs funding and will be a one-year fixed term contract in the first instance, with an expected start date of Monday 3rd November 2025.

Are you passionate about supporting students in a positive learning environment? Do you have the skills to supervise and guide young learners, if so, we invite you to apply for this great opportunity!

We are seeking a dedicated LBSA to support and supervise students whilst they are in the learning base, a designated area in our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) department.

The ideal candidate will be a caring and patient individual with excellent communication skills. They will be innovative, confident, adaptable and have clear enthusiasm to learn and develop their knowledge of how to support students with SEND. The successful applicant will need to be well-organised, resilient, proactive, possess an adaptable approach to supporting learning and committed to fostering a positive school culture. Whilst it would be beneficial to have a proven track record of supporting children with high SEND needs within the secondary education environment, we are happy to appoint someone who is extremely keen and willing to learn.

The post is 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (currently term time plus 37 hours during the summer holidays).

The post will be paid at KSC which carries a starting salary of £22,011 (pro-rata to £25,252).
The main duties include:
• Supervising students in a designated area, ensuring a safe and structured environment
• Support individual or small groups of students with their learning needs
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in activities
• Assisting with basic administrative tasks and classroom support when needed
• Working collaboratively with teachers and staff to enhance student development

Closing date for applications is 9.00 a.m. on Monday 22nd September 2025

Interviews will be held during the week beginning 29th September 2025
