Summary
Do you have project management skills with experience working in the cultural sector, working with freelancers/artists? Do you have a high level of organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines?
About us
At the Science Museum Group, STEM engagement is at the heart of what we do. We ignite curiosity around STEM by assisting discovery through active participation and social interaction. This role would work within a project team driving interaction and engagement with digital arts through an innovative pilot project: Bradford Digital Creatives.
Bradford Digital Creatives is an Arts Council-funded, collaborative project between the National Science & Media Museum (NSMM), Born in Bradford (Age of Wonder), Bradford Council, Bradford City of Culture 2025 and Bradford Cultural Education Partnership.
As we look towards the last 6 months of the project, we need a Project Manager to continue delivery of the programme, on a part-time basis (approx. 2 days pw) until 31 March 2026. In this role, you'll be based at the National Science & Media Museum in Bradford, but will travel across the city to deliver work.
About the role
The Project Manager will deliver the Digital Creatives programme supported by the NSMM Head of Screen and Cultural Engagement and the Digital Creatives Producer.
Activity has already taken place across a number of Bradford schools and will continue until March 2026. The programme supports young people to access workshops and creative sessions from world-class artists. The programme began in 2024 and you will help to plan and deliver the final 6 months of activity.
This post requires a flexible approach, working both as part of a wider team but also driving forward delivery remotely.
About you
Joining us, you will have experience of developing and producing projects of scale, understanding the importance of collaborating with creative teams to develop commissions and projects.
You will have the ability to engage with a wide range of partners, including artists, and work flexibly based on the demands of the project. Being a skilled and effective planner, you are able to deliver high quality activity whilst continuously evaluating and building.
You will be comfortable working collaboratively and creatively and possess solid project management experience along with a strategic and solutions-focused approach. You will be able to motivate a team to deliver results and projects to deadline and within budget.
Don't feel you meet all the criteria? We welcome you to apply even if your experience doesn't match directly. With your transferable skills, you could be the right candidate for this, or other opportunities that we have.
