Summary
Head Chef – Care Home Setting – £16 per hour (£33,280) – 40 Hours per week, alternate weekends
Our client is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen team within a luxury residential care home for older adults.
Set in a beautifully converted country house, this is a rewarding opportunity to showcase culinary expertise while making a meaningful difference every day.
As Head Chef, you will take responsibility for the planning, preparation, and delivery of nutritious, well-balanced meals tailored to residents’ needs. With a focus on fresh ingredients, dietary requirements, and high standards of food safety, this role combines creativity with purpose in a supportive and caring environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or senior chef, ideally within a care home or healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of allergies, specialist diets, and nutrition in older adults
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills
- A genuine passion for food and improving quality of life through mealtimes
- Up-to-date food hygiene and safety certifications

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the kitchen team to deliver high-quality meals
- Plan and prepare menus that meet a variety of dietary needs, including allergies, medical conditions, and cultural preferences
- Ensure meals are nutritious, well-presented, and aligned with residents’ hydration and nutrition needs
- Manage stock, ordering, and budgets effectively
- Maintain strict food hygiene and safety standards
- Work closely with care and nursing teams to support residents’ wellbeing
