Summary
Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team. The Phlebotomist will play a crucial role in our healthcare delivery system by performing venipucture and capillary blood collection procedures, ensuring accurate specimen labelling, and maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care. Key Responsibilities: Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on patients of all ages, following established protocols and procedures. Verify patient identity and specimen labelling to maintain sample integrity and accuracy. Prepare blood collection equipment, including needles, syringes, and specimen containers, ensuring proper sterilisation and disposal protocols are followed. Adhere to infection control standards and maintain a clean and organised work area. Prepare specimens and ensure that they are ready for collection to allow for analysis, thus maintaining proper handling and storage procedures. Record and document collection and procedure information accurately, including patient details and information. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and service delivery.
