Summary

Great Wishford Church of England Primary School is looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant to join its friendly team and provide support to KS2 pupils, starting ASAP. Experience as Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) is advantageous as the role will involve working across two classes with significant SEND and emotional literacy needsWorking Hours: Part Time (30 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 38 weeks per year – no Teacher Training Days). Required: ASAP.We are a caring and happy single form entry school, educating children between the ages of 5 and 11 years. Located in the picturesque village of Great Wishford, Wiltshire, we have been open for over 300 years and, in that time, have built strong relationships with the local community and Great Wishford Church. Our strong Christian ethos underpins our teaching and learning and staff are dedicated to creating a learning environment where children are challenged and supported. We focus on each child’s unique potential and help them develop the resilience to keep trying, the confidence to believe they can reach their goals and have pride in themselves for who they are. We are part of the Acorn Education Trust, which provides exciting opportunities to collaborate and improve local education. As a Teaching Assistant, you must be able to work across all age ranges within our school and be prepared to work flexibly to provide cover on a regular basis and support children of all abilities, including those requiring social and emotional support, SEN support, liaising with teachers and SENCO.
We are looking for someone who: Has a passion for delivering high quality and exciting opportunities for young people;Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and is able to work with a variety of pupils, staff and parents;Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills;Is self-motivated dedicated and consistent;Enjoys working with young people and can develop good working relationships with them;Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;Can be a strong team player as well as use your own initiative;Has a positive and flexible attitude;Understands and is sympathetic to the needs of young people, including their social and emotional wellbeing;Has experience of supporting children’s learning;Has experience as an ELSA (advantageous);Has a current First Aid or is prepared to undertake training.
