More detail about the role We have this exciting opportunity to work with the Gidleigh research team that covers a diverse portfolio of research studies and clinical trials recruiting from a range of clinical specialities covering disease areas and topics including dementia and delirium, Parkinsons, ageing, dermatology, renal and respiratory. In order to recruit into this portfolio, you will work with multidisciplinary teams and agencies across the site and region. For example, the dementia studies require a multidisciplinary and cross collaboration approach working with research teams based in the Devon Partnership Trust, GP practices, the Clinical Research facility and teams across the South West. This requires a flexible and adaptable approach to working. And the ability to problem-solve in order to meet the challenges and needs of patients, their carers and families, clinicians and study sponsors, whilst delivering the requirements of research protocols. The Ageing portfolio of studies is varied and often involves working with Allied Health Professional teams based both here and within community hospital and team settings. Whilst the Parkinsons research studies are based in outpatient clinics on our sites at Wonford and Heavitree. The Dermatology service offers an increasingly diverse portfolio of research studies and clinical trials and this clinical team is based out at our Heavitree Hospital site. The renal and respiratory portfolio of studies are based at the Wonford site. On a day to day basis the Gidleigh research team are based in either the RILD building or Bowmoor house at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital but see patients in a variety of settings. You will work closely with the other research nurses, assistant practitioners, administrators and the clinicians, as well as the wider Research and Development team. About you The team is looking for someone with a flexible and highly motivated attitude who is keen to learn new skills and ways of working. You will need to have an interest in clinical research and evidenced -based practice, and strong IT skills. Our focus is on ensuring patients have access to high quality research and are supported throughout their research journeys. You will be expected to engage in developing new skills in order to support the delivery of clinical trials e.g. Consenting into clinical trials, rating, cannulation, administrating clinical trial drugs, data management. We have a comprehensive induction package for all new starters joining Research & Development. You will also be supported by a management team who are accessible and will support your development. We are proactive in the care and wellbeing of our staff with use of Buddys and regular staff mixer mornings and events.
