Step Into Leadership – Become a HART Team Leader

Are you a current HART Operative ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for a passionate, committed, and forward-thinking individual to join the North West Ambulance Service as aHART Team Leader.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who knows the team, understands the environment, and wants to make a difference not just in critical incidents - but in the development, wellbeing, and success of colleagues.

As a HART Team Leader, you will report to the HART Group Manager and play a vital role in leading and supporting HART. You'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of patient care, ensuring compliance with national and Trust requirements, and promoting clinical and operational excellence in the most challenging environments.

This is a chance to step into a key leadership position, where you’ll balance operational delivery with people management, becoming a role model for the values and behaviours that define NWAS.

What You’ll Do:
• Provide direct line management to HART Operatives and Specialist Paramedics.
• Lead by example in clinical practice, professionalism, and operational performance.
• Support your colleagues through welfare conversations, appraisals, and mentorship.
• Monitor sickness and promote long-term health and wellbeing within the team.
• Oversee logistics including fleet and equipment readiness.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of HART.
• Deputise and act on behalf of the HART Group Manager.

We’re looking for someone who is ready to lead. You don’t need to have held a leadership position before - but you do need to be:
• A confident, compassionate communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
• Committed to the Trust’s Be Think Do leadership philosophy.
• Passionate about team development, inclusion, and wellbeing.
• Capable of making clear decisions under pressure.
• Respected by your peers and ready to be a role model for others.

Why Apply?
• Step into leadership with full support and development opportunities.
• Shape the culture and performance of your team.
• Work in a rewarding, highly specialised environment.
• Join a Trust that values diversity, ambition, and leadership potential.

If you’re a current HART Operative looking for your next challenge, we’d love to hear from you. This is your opportunity to lead from within and help drive the future of HART at NWAS.

If shortlisted, you must be available all day on 13/10/25 to attend an assessment centre.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
