Summary

We are looking for a dynamic, resilient, committed and innovative senior Support Worker to join our team supporting 16-21 year olds in Supported Accommodation

The role will require you to provide support with independence skills in a proactive and supportive manner, remembering you are there to enable and not disable. You will need to support young people living in our Ofsted regulated supported accommodation units and independent properties with their independence skills, using your knowledge of the 5 outcomes from Every Child Matters and have excellent working knowledge of the supported accommodation regulations to ensure you work in line with these. You must have the ability to work proactively and be able to motivate others to achieve their goals and realise their potential. A good background and understanding of the challenges that face looked after children is essential. You will be required to create sessional work for the young people you support that is individualised to their needs. You will also be working with unaccompanied asylum seeking young people so a good knowledge around the asylum application process is required.
You will need to support with finances and budgeting, shopping, cooking sessions, and delivering other key sessions outlined in our support trackers along with effective progress tracking and regular consultation sessions.
You will be required to have a multi agency approach at all times.

You will be required to attend meetings to represent the organisation and to support with progress tracking e.g. PEPs, CIN meetings, Statutory review meetings, Substantive Interviews etc.
You will be required to complete weekly reports and review reports. You will need to be confident using Microsoft Office, computer literate and have good organisational skills, exceptional written skills and be fluent in English.
You will be required to support the on-call system which operates on a rota basis.

The role is a 25 hours p/w, which may be negotiable.

You must be over the age of 21 for this role
A driving license is required
NVQ 3 (or ability to work towards) or similar qualification

a minimum of 2 years experience working with young people is required for this role
