Summary
Domestic Abuse Advisor (DAA) | Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland | Full Time | 37 hours per week | £13.12 per hour
Our client is a registered charity and a specialist women and girls’ organisation, committed to supporting survivors of domestic abuse. They are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Domestic Abuse Advisor (DAA) to provide a proactive service for adults, focusing on high and very high-risk cases and complex needs.
The role will operate across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland, supporting survivors through risk assessments, safety planning, advocacy, and referrals, including participation in MARAC (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences).

• Methodical and patient approach to tasks, including accurate record keeping and data collection
• Ability to use own initiative and make appropriate decisions within policy boundaries
• Maintain confidentiality at all times
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
• Understanding of collaborative working with staff, volunteers, and external agencies
• Ability to represent the service at meetings and contribute to discussions
• Knowledge of statutory and voluntary sector structures
• Driving licence, business insurance, and ability to travel across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland
What will your role look like?
• Supporting the DAA service for adults under the direction of the Team Leader
• Providing advice, information, and support, including:
• Risk assessments and safety planning
• Civil and criminal legal options and introductions to professional legal services
• Guidance through the Criminal Justice System and court accompaniment
• Housing options and referrals to MARAC for high-risk cases
• Maintaining accurate client records, safety plans, and case notes
• Participating in MARAC and multi-agency meetings to ensure client safety
• Following procedures and protocols with other services to prioritise client safety
• Complying with child protection legislation and safeguarding policies
• Assisting with monitoring systems, data collection, and statistical reporting
• Attending internal and external training to maintain current knowledge of domestic abuse legislation and best practices
• Representing LWA at meetings, conferences, and forums as appropriate
• Contributing to the overall development of the service and wider organisation
• Actively adhering to all company policies and procedures
