A Vacancy at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We have an exciting opportunity in the Maxillofacial Laboratory team at St George's Hospital for a highly experienced Dental Technician with specialist knowledge and skills in Prosthodontic and Oral/Maxillofacial appliances.

The post holder will be responsible for clinical/technical delivery of complex dental/prosthodontic appliances and working closely with the clinical teams in Head& Neck, Restorative Dentistry & Oral Surgery to provide oncology rehabilitation devices.

Technical Knowledge and Skills
Provide a comprehensive scientific, technological, and advisory service—primarily Maxillofacial and Dental Prosthetics, directly to patients or on behalf of Specialist Consultants in Dental and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery. Design and construct bespoke, highly complex devices to restore function and aesthetics for patients with traumatic, surgical, or congenital deformities, focusing on the oral cavity and occasionally the head and neck. Consider aesthetics, function, material science, and patient-specific physiological, psychological, and medical needs.
Communication and Relationships
Attend departmental, clinical, and MDT meetings. Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Communicate sensitively and compassionately with patients and carers, especially those with severe congenital or post-oncological facial disfigurements, in line with Trust values.
Key Result Areas
Manage personal workload efficiently, adapting to short-notice changes. Deliver technical work to the highest standards and pursue ongoing skill development. Adhere to Trust and laboratory policies. Lead the Prosthodontic Technical service within the Maxillofacial Laboratory, supporting departmental service development and staff training, including STP trainees.

St George’s, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group cares for a population of four million people in South West London and North East Surrey.
