A Vacancy at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting time to join UHMBT.

Working within the Strategy and Transformation Department, and joining the Improvement and Redesign Team, this role will play a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the delivery of the Trust's transformation ambitions.

A passion and commitment to the improvement and transformation of clinical services will be key. Alongside having a flair and expertise in working with clinical and operational leaders to design, articulate and make happen significant change to our services for patient and staff benefit.

The Associate Director of Transformation (Clinical Strategy) will be responsible for the establishment and delivery of large-scale and strategic transformation programmes, specifically those concerned with the implementation of new models of care that are aligned to the delivery of the Trust’s clinical strategy and are central to sustainability. The role will lead the Trust’s reconfiguration programmes and be the Trust lead for system-wide acute reconfiguration programmes.

The post-holder will be a senior member of the wider Strategy and Transformation Department, regularly deputising for the Director of Strategy and Transformation. They will be required to consistently operate with a high level of political awareness, personal influence and skill, working effectively with internal and external partners, including Executive Directors, Chief Medical Officers, Divisional CMOs, Divisional Directors, other acute providers, commissioners, NHSE, local authorities and patients and carers to deliver programme objectives and outcomes.

The post holder will work with colleagues at all levels, including senior clinicians, executives, project managers and teams across Lancashire and South Cumbria. They will act in a highly autonomous capacity and require high levels of political astuteness.

The post holder will be expected to undertake direct programme management activities on specified work streams relating to optimising the configuration and delivery of clinical services.

We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Please see the job description and person specification for further details around the role and its responsibilities.
