Production Engineer

Job Location: Poole, Dorset
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Excellent starting salary
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 5.00pm & Friday 8.30am – 2.00pm

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Production Engineer working for a well-established Manufacturing company based in Poole.

This privately owned company has an excellent standing in the industry for the range of products they make, the quality of their products and service they provide.

Working as part of the production team your key duties will include:

• Improve machining and assembly techniques.
• Support production with technical problem-solving.
• Create and prove CNC programs for multi-axis machines.
• Standardise tooling and methods across the shop.
• Design custom tools and fixtures when needed.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement and reduce waste.
• Review product and quality costs; manage change requests.
• Design jigs/fixtures using 3D CAD with lean principles.
• Provide clear manufacturing procedures and routes.
• Monitor production metrics and drive productivity.
• Maintain ERP/MRP data (routes, BOMs, part numbers).

For this role you must have;

• Previous experience in Production Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
• Skilled in jig & fixture design and testing.
• Good knowledge of CNC Programming and inspection.
• Experienced with manual and CNC Mills & Lathes
• Knowledge of Fanuc and Heidenhain controls.
• Edgecam programming experience preferred.
