Role – Section 5 Officer (Homelessness Services)
Location – GCHSCP, North West and North East areas of the city
Contract Status – Temporary, up to 31 March 2026

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) is seeking to recruit a Section 5 Officer within Homelessness Services. This role focuses on minimising homelessness by delivering high-quality housing option assessments, information, and support. You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues across GCHSCP, as well as voluntary and private sector partners, as part of our wider homelessness prevention strategy.


The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Section 5 process within the Homelessness Casework Services by supporting the development and management of the Section 5 Management Information Data Base (I-World) and liaising with partner organisations within and outside of the Council family. Knowledge of homelessness issues and legislation is essential for this post.


It is desirable for you to have SVQ level 3 in Social Care/ HNC or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards the qualification.


Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.


These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
