We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Vice Principal with responsibility for the Quality of Education to start in January 2026.
This is a full time key strategic role where you will champion curriculum ambition and inclusivity at Rainhill High School. You will be accountable for teaching, learning and outcomes, ensuring every pupil – regardless of background – achieves their full potential.
As Vice Principal, you will:
• Be accountable for the quality, ambition and inclusivity of the curriculum across KS3–5, ensuring all students can succeed.
• Lead the development of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, rooted in research and best practice.
• Oversee Quality Assurance systems that drive continuous improvement in standards and outcomes.
• Ensure that progress and attainment are strong for all learners, including disadvantaged students and those with SEND.
• Lead on literacy, numeracy and reading, ensuring every student has the skills needed to access the full curriculum.
• Manage the delivery of external examinations (11–19) and ensure pathways and transition arrangements prepare students for their next stage.
• Deputise for the Principal when required, contributing fully to the leadership and strategic direction of the school and Trust.

Essential criteria;
QTS and degree. Ongoing CPD in leadership and curriculum.
Proven record of SLT leadership, upholding vision, values and high standards. Experience deputising for Principal.
Evidence of leading ambitious, broad and inclusive curriculum planning across KS3–5.
Experience raising teaching and learning standards at whole-school/ departmental level. Skilled in QA, CPD and assessment leadership.
Proven track record developing middle leaders.
Evidence of improving attainment and progress across cohorts.
Experience of leading external exams.
Evidence of raising literacy and numeracy standards across the curriculum.
Commitment to ambitious outcomes for disadvantaged and SEND learners. Understanding of SEND Code of Practice.
Skilled in leading whole-school QA systems and holding others to account.
Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
Inspirational, resilient leader; excellent communicator; strategic thinker.
