40 hours per week – Monday to Friday

Do you like working in the great outdoors? Do you have a passion for Gardening? Or are you looking for a new role? If so, we have a great opportunity for you. We are looking for a Grounds Maintenance Charge Hand (also known as a Landscape Technician Charge Hand) to be responsible for the maintenance of communal grounds including grass cutting, trimming hedges and weeding flower beds. It will be your role to provide supervisory support to the wider team and ensure the grounds look presentable for any visitors.

A company van and tools will be provided which you will be responsible for and ensure they are kept in good working condition. So, if you are looking for a new challenge then this may be the role for you.

The role of Grounds Maintenance Charge Hand will include:
- Provide supervisory support in keeping estates well maintained and clean
- Use equipment and materials in a safe manner as instructed and in accordance with risk assessment and the manufacturer’s guidance
- Carry out all hazardous tasks such as spraying, in accordance with supplier guidelines ensuring relevant records are maintained to comply with health and safety and legal requirements
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and continue to be suitable for required tasks
- Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations

Skills and experiences:
- A pesticide application certificate PA1 – PA6 or equivalent
- NVQ3 or equivalent in Horticulture or similar discipline is desirable
- Recent experience of working within a similar role where operating gardening machinery is essential
- Some experience of supervising others
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
