About WMC/Our Department:
Business Operations look after this iconic Wales Millennium ensuing safe, secure, sustainable, welcoming environment for employees, resident and customers to enjoy, working closely with all departments to ensure this objective is successfully achieved. WMC is at the forefront of sustainable practices and has achieved, ISO14001 accreditation and work to a sector specific sustainability framework, Theatre Green Books. On the horizon we have a number of infrastructure projects to safely achieve as well as progressing our Sustainability plans by achieving the Kings Award for sustainability.

About the Role and Responsibilities:
• You will work with departments within WMC, providing comprehensive, practical guidance and support across both Health and Safety and sustainability area.
• You will lead WMC in maintaining the maximum degree of control of health and safety standards including Food hygiene in the workplace and be responsible for reviewing current provisions for health and safety across our locations and for implementing an effective and consistent Health and Safety Management System.
• You will implement the Health and Safety Management System and improving visibility of health and safety, and enhance our existing safety culture. This will involve working with and mentoring staff to take ownership of risk at each location and to achieve consistency of health and safety standards across WMC.
• You will liaise with key third parties, to ensure compliance, good practice and continuous improvement is achieved.
• Working with the Head of Business Operations, you will deliver the sustainability strategy for the organization. Running initiatives and training across the site falling in line with the theatre green book, ISO14001 and Welsh government guidelines and policies.
• Initially this role will be site based to learn all about the organisation, following probation this role could be undertaken on a hybrid-basis.
Your role will be subject to a DBS check.

Key Requirements:
• You will have a strong track record of organizing and coordinating all activities relating to health and safety for the site such as training and giving appropriate advice.
• Possess a relevant health and safety qualification (NEBOSH, NVQ, NCRQ, IOSH Level 6 qualification or similar), or have equivalent experience.
• You have demonstrable experience of maintaining, updating and embedding a health and safety management system and associated documentation.
• You will have previous experience of maintaining and updating sustainability policies and rolling out initiatives to promote and educate employees
• Together with previous experience in health and safety management role, leading the implementation of best practice, taking accountability for identifying risks, resolving issues and coming up with sustainable solutions which ensure a safe place to work.
