Summary
A Day in the Life
Every day is different in this role, with a mix of conversations that keep things engaging. You'll be speaking with existing members, ensuring they continue to see the value of their membership and securing renewals. At the same time, you’ll be reaching out to potential new members, following up on previous interest and helping them understand how FSB can support their business. Alongside this, you’ll handle inbound sales calls, whether from new sales enquiries looking to join or from members who may be considering leaving, working to find the right solutions for them.
Rather than focusing purely on call volumes, your success will come from maximising every opportunity and building genuine relationships. By listening to members and understanding their needs, you’ll be able to showcase the full range of benefits that FSB offers. Whether it’s expert advice, financial support, or networking opportunities, you’ll help small business owners see how FSB can be an essential part of their success.
Throughout the day, you’ll work towards targets in membership growth, retention, and quality, with the support of a collaborative team that shares knowledge and celebrates success. Keeping up to date with industry news, FSB campaigns, and member benefits will ensure you always have the right information to provide relevant, valuable advice.
What We’re Looking For
We need someone who thrives in a target-driven environment, enjoys engaging with people, and is motivated by success. You’ll have experience in sales, retention, or customer engagement—whether over the phone or face-to-face—and ideally, previous contact centre sales and retention experience. Strong communication skills, confidence using CRM systems, and an understanding of GDPR are also key. Most importantly, you’ll have a passion for helping small businesses succeed.
Why Join FSB?
We offer a supportive team culture, uncapped sales and retention commission, and a Monday-to-Friday schedule—no evenings or weekends. You’ll also enjoy:
26 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy more
Annual Flex Pot to spend on extra benefits like pension top-ups, additional leave, or discounted gym membership
Health cash plan, including dental, optical, physiotherapy, and counselling support
Critical illness and income protection insurance
Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
Employee assistance programme and mental health first aiders
Group Personal Pension (GPP)
FSB is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. If you require reasonable adjustments, please contact the HR department.
