Summary
JOB PURPOSE The post holder will work to deliver the Medical Workforce Strategy through the implementation of medical workforce projects, including for example temporary medical agency utilisation and the deployment of medical workforce using e-rostering/bank systems. JOB DIMENSIONS To work within a Medical Deployment/Bank Office team to provide a quality medical deployment service within Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, managing Resident doctor rota gaps, recording of resignations, swaps, absence, and sickness and booking Internal Bank doctors and Agency doctors as requested by medical departments. The medical deployment/bank service will: Ensure that the e-Rostering system has the correct Doctors Roster System (DRS) templates against each roster. Upload Resident doctors and align them to rosters from the electronic staff Record (ESR). Producing live rosters from the templates. Manage real time of resignations, swaps, sickness, and absence recording on the e-Rostering system. Identify and monitor breaches of safe working hours that will impact patient care as stipulated within the rules of the Resident Doctor Contract 2016 escalating and identifying alternative solutions. Managing Resident doctor rota gaps including securing the recruitment of medical bank staff and temporary staffing solutions in conjunction with senior medical staff. Additionally, the post holder will manage rota gaps alongside the Medical Deployment Assistant, this will include advertising out medical locum gaps through the methods messaging, emailing and phone calls and coordinating the recruitment of medical bank staff. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Significant administrative experience, preferably in the NHS or similar complex organisation. Knowledge and awareness of good practice in administrative processes associated with the recruitment and deployment of staff, including employment checks. Have a working knowledge of medical staffing employment practice and Resident Doctor Contract 2016 Ability to communicate with staff, medical staff, and managers at all levels. Effective and adaptable interpersonal and influencing skills including negotiations skills and an ability to remain calm in tense situations. The post holder must possess excellent communication skills and be able to deal with staff using tact and diplomacy. The post holder will have experience of working in a customer focussed and facing environment and be experienced in dealing with matters of a confidential nature. Advanced keyboard skills - able to produce professional letters, spreadsheets, reports etc. Able to analyse and assimilate information relating to staff rotas as a basis for identifying and resolving potential problems. Have sufficient knowledge of Healthroster/Bankstaff within 6 weeks on entry to post to enable the production of non-routine reports. Have the capacity to prioritise their workload, work towards and meet challenging timescales as set by others and organise own workload. Previous experience of providing supervision and support to junior team members. Proven experience of taking accountability and responsibility for decisions they have made.
