Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? This is a rewarding opportunity to join a specialist all-through school in the High Peak area, catering to pupils aged 5-18 with autism, social-emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and complex communication challenges. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced SENCOs, teachers, and therapists to deliver tailored 1:1 and small group support. You'll help pupils meet their EHCP targets, develop independence, and thrive in a nurturing, structured environment. This full-time role is term-time only and offers excellent prospects for long-term career development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with autism, SEMH, and sensory processing needs.
  • Deliver personalised interventions and adapt learning resources.
  • Promote emotional regulation, social skills, and academic progress.
  • Assist with personal care and life skills development (training provided).
  • Collaborate with staff and families to ensure holistic support.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • A Level 3 qualification in education, childcare, or health and social care.
  • Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally in a specialist or alternative provision.
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour and supporting emotional needs.
  • A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach.
  • A full UK driving licence (essential due to location).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.
