Summary

Hours: Full-time, 35.75 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
Contract: Temporary, 12-month contract.
Location: Meadowbank Sports Centre, Edinburgh (Hybrid working)

We are looking for a Procurement Assistant to join our team at Edinburgh Leisure, supporting the procurement team and colleagues across the organisation to achieve optimal value through effective purchasing decisions.



What You’ll Do:
- Provide administrative support for daily procurement activities, including managing the company credit card system.
- Respond to queries from requisitioners, offering guidance to support informed purchasing decisions.
- Deliver training and support to colleagues on the use of procurement and credit card systems.
- Maintain and update procurement databases to ensure accurate and accessible information.
- Advise colleagues on procurement processes, helping them identify suitable suppliers and products.



Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- SVQ3/HNC or equivalent education, with Higher English and Maths (or equivalent).
- At least three years’ relevant experience in a procurement and/or customer service environment.
- Practical understanding of electronic purchase-to-pay systems and proficiency in Microsoft applications and ERP systems.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage workloads effectively.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain procurement processes clearly to non-specialists.
- A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality support.



Desirable:
- SVQ4/HND with three years’ experience or a Supply Chain Qualification.
- Student of CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply).
- Experience in the not-for-profit, charity, or public sector procurement environment.

This is a hybrid role, with time split between working in our venues and home working.
