The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust (RNOH) is seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist to join our specialist clinical team. The service is undergoing a review to ensure a continued and sustainable service for the future with a view to advertise for a substantive appointment within the next 6-9 months.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and forward-thinking neurophysiology service at one of the UK’s and the world`s leading specialist orthopaedic hospitals.

This is a part time position (6 PAs) which offers some flexibility in the working schedule. In addition EEG reporting can often be done remotely.

We would strongly advise any interested applicants in contacting the service leads to discuss any details or clarifications required for this post. We welcome applicants internally and externally to the UK. The team has a great track record of multidisciplinary working, team working and in providing excellent support to new colleagues.

The successful applicant will provide a full range of nerve conduction studies (NCS) and electromyography (EMG) services and be expected to be able to undertake this on all available equipment, currently Natus. They will also be required to support physiologist led carpal tunnel clinics & report on these tests. The successful applicant will be required to report on EEGs. The department performs a significant amount of intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) during spinal & peripheral nerve explorative surgery. This part of the service is physiologist led but governed by the consultant neurophysiologist. Whilst ‘hands on’ involvement is not expected it could provide an interesting adjunct to the job role.

This is a great time to join us and play a critical role in the next stage of RNOH’s journey to achieving an outstanding CQC rating.

We are committed to equal opportunities in employment and offer a range of flexible working practices. Part-time and job share applications will be considered.
