Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
Allens Croft Primary School is a diverse, fully inclusive two-form entry school, with three Resource Base classes, set in extensive grounds in the Kings Heath area of Birmingham. We are looking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic, reliable and caring Family Support Worker to work with children and their families to support with attendance, raise aspirations and engagement. This is a varied role that focuses in particular on supporting and promoting the safety and wellbeing of our children and their families, engaging with a wide range of agencies to identify and provide support for identified families.
The purpose of the role is to ensure effective advice, guidance and support for families in order to encourage engagement, raise standards, aspirations and promote attendance and punctuality. You will have experience of making referrals, undertaking home visits and providing practical help and support to families. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to children and their families. We’re looking for someone who can:
• Work closely with parents and carers to help overcome pupils’ barriers to learning both internal and external to school
• Ensure that all administrative and safeguarding duties are carried out efficiently and with the upmost confidentiality
• Be approachable and able to build positive relationships with our young people and their families
• Be organised and methodical in their approach to ensure all necessary checks and protocols are followed
• Be actively engaged in their role, taking a positive and passionate approach to strive for the best support for our staff, students and families
