About the Role
We're looking for a full-time Primary Teaching Assistant with Team Teach training to join a specialist primary PRU provision in Manchester, supporting pupils aged 5-11 who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion.
Start: ASAP in September 2025
Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30am-3:30pm
Contract: Long-term, with potential to go permanent
Pay: £95-£115/day DOE for first 12 weeks (Paid PAYE - no umbrella companies!)
Equal Pay: Matched to permanent staff after 12 weeks
Free CPD: Access to The National College & Creative Education platforms
New DBS Refund: Full refund after 20 days of work ✅
Support: Dedicated consultant with over a decade of local experience to support you

What You'll Be Doing
• Supporting primary aged pupils with SEMH, Autism, ADHD and trauma-related needs
• Using Team Teach strategies to de-escalate and manage behaviour positively
• Helping children regulate emotions and build resilience
• Supporting learning through play, visuals and structured routines
• Working closely with teachers, therapists, and families
• Encouraging essential life skills and positive social interaction
• Following safeguarding procedures and reporting concerns appropriately

What You'll Need
• Team Teach certificate (in date)
• CV with 10-year work history
• Proof of Right to Work, ID & proof of address
• DBS on Update Service (or willing to apply)
• Professional references covering the last 2 years
• Overseas Police Check (if applicable)
• Experience working with SEN and challenging behaviour
• Positivity, resilience, empathy & a proactive attitude
