Summary

The purpose of this role is to develop a clear pathway of progression, training, and career structure for Advanced Clinical Practitioners. This post will develop to a Band 8a upon completion of a masters in advanced clinical Practice, and completion of an Independent Non-Medical Prescribing qualification. The Trainee will need to demonstrate completion of all clinical and academic practice before progression to Band 8a. The post holder will be able to work autonomously and be able to provide a high level of expert clinical management and care to patients within the speciality. They will act as a role model for advanced practice working closely with the multidisciplinary team and other key stakeholders. The MSc Advanced Clinical Practitioner is a work based, multi-professional programme designed, developed, and delivered in line with NHS England. This develops the requisite knowledge, skills, and behaviours commensurate with Advanced Clinical Practice in a range of specialist practice against the 4 pillars of Advanced Practice: Clinical Practice (including prescribing) Leadership and Management Education Research Core clinical competencies to enable advanced clinical assessment and examination, including but not limited to: Clinical data interpretation, investigation, and treatment. Resuscitation and first stage management. Diagnosis and disease management. Delivery of expert clinical interventions and treatments Non-medical prescribing The post holder will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will be expected to cover days and weekend shifts as part of their role. There will be also dedicated allocated time for management and continuous professional development.
