Summary
Job Title: Dumper Driver with National Grid Persons
Location: Norwich
Project: Substation Civils
Contract Type: Contract - CIS
Contract Length: 6 months
Hours: 46.5 per week
Our client is looking for an experienced Dumper Driver/Groundworker to join their Civils team on a live substation construction project. The role will involve safe and efficient operation of forward tipping dumpers, supporting groundworks and general site operations for a National Grid Substation project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate dumper to transport earth, materials, and equipment around the site
- Support groundworkers and site operatives in material movement and earthworks
- Carry out pre-start checks and daily maintenance on the machine
- Follow site safety rules and contribute to a safe working environment
- Work under the direction of the site supervisor and support wider team activities as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
- CPCS or NPORS card with Dumper Driver category (Forward Tipping etc.)
- Previous experience working on civils or substation/utility projects preferred
- Must Hold National Grid Persons
- Understanding of site safety and machine operation best practices
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions clearly
- Must have own PPE
- Manual handling or other site safety certifications
