A welcoming primary school in Hemel Hempstead with a dedicated SEN department is recruiting a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates who are passionate about working with children and interested in careers such as teaching, educational psychology, or therapeutic support.
The Role – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
• Work with pupils in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who have additional needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping children access the curriculum and develop essential social and learning skills.
• Support class teachers in adapting activities and creating an inclusive, nurturing classroom.
• Encourage children to build confidence, independence, and resilience in both their learning and personal development.

About You
• A 2:1 degree or higher – Psychology, Education, or related fields are particularly relevant
• A genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs
• Adaptable, resilient, and patient in different situations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Previous experience with children or SEN (in schools, youth work, or care) is beneficial but not essential
• Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
