Summary
Please refer to the job description and person specification attached to the advert for the full details of the vacancy. To construct customised immobilisation and shielding devices for patients prescribed external beam radiotherapy treatment. A high standard of accuracy is required as these devices are used to align and set-up radiation beams. The construction techniques require taking direct patient impressions. To design and construct other immobilisation, shielding and beam modification devices for patient treatments, dosimetry checks, etc. To measure patient organ doses on treatment when required for Total Body Irradiation. To assist in the calibration and dosimetry quality assurance of radiotherapy treatment equipment and plans. To perform IMRT verification as required. To produce highly complex treatment plans using both IMRT and conformal techniques. This includes image fusion and some contouring. To perform routine backup and archiving for treatment planning systems. To assist in the development work in the department including involvement in clinical trials. To participate in the training of other staff and visitors.
