Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Operative to join the Norwich City Service Limited (NCSL) team. If you are a multi-skilled tradesperson, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
About the Role?
This position involves delivering a wide range of maintenance and repair services across Norwich City Council’s domestic and commercial properties on behalf of NCSL. The role requires proficiency in a primary trade—such as carpentry—alongside competence in at least two additional trades like plumbing and plastering, all performed independently and efficiently. Responsibilities include interpreting drawings and specifications, liaising with supervisors and schedulers, ordering materials, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and relevant legislation. The postholder is expected to maintain high service standards, support apprentices, collaborate with stakeholders, uphold confidentiality, and embody the values of Norwich City Services Ltd.
The ideal candidate must hold a full UK driving licence and possess a City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 qualification in a core trade, or equivalent experience, is required, along with sound knowledge of health and safety regulations. Strong time management, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently and courteously with the public and colleagues are essential. The role also demands the ability to work at heights. Desirable qualifications include Asbestos Awareness and CAT B Removal training, as well as prior experience in social housing maintenance, particularly in planned and void works.
