Summary

Overall Purpose:
The Directorate Assistant will provide administrative support to a senior member of the
Education and Student Experience and other leaders as directed. They will oversee diary
management, and ensure accurate recording of budgetary spend, collation of staffing
information and respond to business requirements, e.g., the review of risk registers, data
retention schedules and schedules of business.
Principle Duties:
• To provide administrative support to Directorate leaders in diary management, and
scheduling of directorate level activities
• To record minutes and actions from directorate-level working groups and / or
meetings
• To support the timely review of business-information, e.g., risk registers, data
retention, business continuity
• To be responsible for the purchasing of resources, consumables, travel and
development as needed and maintain accurate records of resource usage and
budgetary expenditure
• Provide administrative support across a broad range of HR activities including core
recruitment through to conclusion of probation, staff absence
• To support learning and teaching with a range of reporting and information collation
as needed, and for a range of purposes
• Assist with the organisation of preparation of large events arranged by the service,
e.g., the Learning and Teaching conference
• To process room booking requests
• To contribute to pan university events including induction, welcome, and graduation
• To undertake any other activity as appropriate and as requested by the Education
and Student Experience leadership
