Summary
More2Riverside has a fantastic full-time nursery practitioner job in Greenwich (SE10 OFZ) at our nursery near the river in Greenwich – you do not need an early years qualification. The vacancy is in the baby room or toddler room, so working with under 2s or under 3s. Ideally you will have previous childcare experience or have worked with children. We are keen to train the right person to a level 2 or 3 qualification.
We are a little different to an average nursery – we work closely with the community and also run a monthly parents group. Our curriculum focuses on sports, languages and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths). Parents join our membership scheme and we have just been awarded an accreditation to our commitment to early years practice.
Our building overlooks the River Thames with views of Canary Wharf – perfect for lunchtime walks and alfresco lunches by the bustling cafes. Or if you want to wander to Greenwich Park or historic Greenwich it’s all within walking distance.
The nursery is based in a new and modern building with air conditioning. The three rooms are bright and spacious with brand new equipment. The children have the largest playground of all the nurseries in the local area.
We have an open culture where staff input is encouraged, where individuals are valued and we invest in you with good benefits and a learning and development plan. We reward loyalty, good attendance and performance. We have a star of the month reward plan, invite staff to social events each year paid for by the nursery and have a week at the nursery each summer dedicated to training (no children attend during this week). Depending on profits there is an annual Christmas bonus. The staff team are very friendly and supportive. Some have worked for us since we opened.
Responsibilities of the Assistant:
• After a period of training, to act as a key worker and provide care for a small group of children.
• With your knowledge of EYFS help with planning of daily activities and provide suitable play and learning opportunities
• To write up learning journeys around your key children and contribute to room planning
• To ensure children under your care develop and learn in a safe and supportive environment
• To be responsible for monitoring children’s progress and sharing information about their development with their parents and/or carer’s.
• To carry out all duties associated with looking after your key group and around the daily routine
Benefits and working hours
• Up to 36 days holiday per annum
• Pension plan after qualifying period
• A bespoke programme of learning and development
• Free More2membership card giving discounts and offers with our partners and local businesses.
• Social events twice a year
• A bespoke wellbeing programme for staff with access to counsellors if required
Hours: 8AM to 6PM four days a week (these are full time hours, compressed into 4 days).
All successful applicants will have an enhanced DBS check carried out, must join the DBS update service and be able to supply two suitable references that confirm suitability to work and safeguard children. Failure to disclose any criminal convictions, allegations, police interviews or anything else relevant will result in instant dismissal/applicant disqualification. As well as complying with Ofsted and relevant laws, safeguarding of children in More2Riverside’s care is at the core of our organization.
