Job description

Job purpose
To support me during the school holidays to have more opportunities getting out and about and to give my family some respite.
About me
I am an 8-year-old boy living in Felixstowe with my mum, dad and four brothers. I have autism and a rare genetic disorder called Wiedeman-Steiner syndrome. I’m happy and cheeky, but stubborn. I can sometimes have challenging behaviours.
I love kicking a football and watching football, I also love trains. I enjoy going for walks.
It is important I have constant supervision to ensure I am safe at all times as I have no danger awareness, so use a harness or my SEN buggy whilst out.

• Continence care
• Taking me out and about
• Support with feeding
• 1:1 care

• Driving licence and access to own vehicle (with business insurance)
• Understanding and experience with children who have special needs
• To be able to work alone

Summary terms and conditions
• Hours, days and times of work: 4 hours available per week, during the school holidays. To be spilt over 2 days in the week (2 x 2-hour shifts).
The specific days and times of work will be flexible and negotiable with the successful candidate between 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
• Pay rate: £13.50 per hour
• Annual leave: The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally done during 5.6 weeks (statutory entitlement).
• Expenses: You will be reimbursed for prior agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
• Sick pay: I do not operate a private sick pay scheme but provided you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).
• Pension: I do not operate a private pension scheme but I will fulfil my statutory obligations via the NEST pension scheme.
