Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
As Finance Officer, you will play a key role in managing the school’s financial procedures and supporting the Executive Head Teacher and Executive Manager. Your responsibilities will include:
Overseeing the School Fund and daily financial operations
Managing income, banking and disbursements in line with financial regulations
Generating and processing orders, invoices and credit notes
Preparing payment runs and ensuring cash flow is maintained
Handling VAT returns, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Administering ParentPay and supporting bursary assessments
Using financial systems including FMS, SIMS, and Microsoft Office Suite
We’re seeking a well-organised, self-motivated individual with:
GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) in English and Maths
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Finance/Accounting or relevant experience
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
Strong IT skills and experience with computer-based accounts systems
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
A collaborative approach and the ability to work independently
