Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to appoint a highly effective and efficient person to provide front line support for our students, including overseeing our First Aid procedures. We are seeking a candidate who has a genuine desire to support children and young people, strong interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour.
The successful applicant will find a purposeful and supportive learning environment, with a team of staff committed to raising student achievement and well-being.
The successful candidate should:
Have a high level of Literacy and Numeracy skills, equivalent to Level 3
Have a commitment to, and belief in, the equal value of all students
Have an ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people
Have emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and attitudes to use of authority and maintaining discipline
Have an awareness of child protection issues
Have proven experience of working in administration
Be First Aid trained (or a willingness to undertake training)
Have strong ICT skills, especially in the use of Word and Excel
Have an appropriate level of data protection, security and confidentiality awareness
Have strong communication and listening skills
Have an ability to problem solve and an awareness and ability to identify issues that children may experience and how they can be resolved
Accurate, consistent and have an attention to detail
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to keep calm and maintain an air of authority
Efficient and organised: independent and effective in time management
Ability to use initiative
Willing to be flexible and adaptable
Desirable:
Prior relevant experience of working in a school
Experience of using SIMS (School’s Information Management System)

The hours per week are 8.00 am to 3.30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid break, term time only.
