Summary
Experience Basic laboratory skills. Experience of working in an NHS hospital laboratory. Knowledge And Awareness A reasonable knowledge of health and safety principles applicable in working within a laboratory environment. Must understand the nature of patient confidentiality. Basic understanding of hospital laboratory terminology. A knowledge of Health and Safety lad and its application. A knowledge of information governance and its application in pathology. Experience of working in an NHS hospital laboratory. Qualifications IBMS Accredited BSc Degree or a BSc Degree acceptable to the IBMS having attained appropriate top up modules. Suitable Qualifications in Information Technology (e.g CLAIT/ECDL) Suitable Qualifications in Health And Safety Skills and Abilities Good interpersonal and communication skills. Able to demonstrate good laboratory practice in their work. Good interpersonal and communication skills with patients and all levels of staff inside and outside of pathology. Able to work well within a small team. Able to work under pressure. Enthusiasm to undertake appropriate training as required to facilitate service developments.
