For full job description, please see attached supporting documents. JOB SUMMARY To assess and treat own specialist caseload within the Mental Health Service, both ward based and community focussed. To contribute as part of the clinical team to service development, quality initiatives and audit activities. KEY RESULT AREAS: Communication Record clinical observations and clinical information pertaining to individuals in a manner consistent with trust policy, professional standards and best practice guidelines. Communicate appropriate clinical information to colleagues in health, social care and other agencies, service users and their families. Provide verbal and written clinical service information in a form that meets the needs of recipient and complies with local and national protocols and policies. Be part of the clinical care team and actively participate in case conferences, strategy meetings, MDT meetings and other clinical meetings. Be involved with service development initiatives within therapy and the wider service and wider trust activities, leading these activities at times. Supervise junior staff and support workers within the clinical area. Participate in the professional and Allied Health Professions networks within the trust. Maintain up-to-date statistical details using the trust's information systems. Maintain an electronic calendar on the trust's IT network and routinely use the e-mail system and other electronic information resources. Personal and People Development Maintain a professional development portfolio that meets the requirements for maintaining registration with the Health and Care Professions Council. Maintain competence in core activities by attending statutory training and compulsory training. These will include, but are not restricted to: fire; vulnerable adults procedures; moving & handling; personal safety or aggression management, infection control; cultural competence. Participate in the trust appraisal process and from this develop and adhere to a CPD strategy that meets identified clinical, professional and personal goals commensurate with the level and scope of the post. This will include consideration of learning methods, level and amount of learning activity undertaken. Establish and maintain working practices that strike a balance between clinical work, CPD and personal life. Participate in regular and structured supervision taking into account professional, clinical and managerial aspects of the role. Participate in in-service training and other training and support activities within the profession and within the clinical area. Support pre-registration health and social care student placements within the clinical speciality across the trust.
