Summary

Participate in the day-to-day co-ordination and delivery of the oncology pharmacy clinical service to NHS patients To support prescribing at the individual level, contributing to the optimisation of the individual patients drug therapy with due consideration to risk/benefit issues Clinically screen Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy prescriptions to a standard as defined in the BOPA Standards for SACT Prescription verification. To communicate effectively with all healthcare professionals to ensure the safe, clinically effective and cost-efficient use of drugs. To ensure appropriate provision of medication information to patients regarding SACT within the Day Unit, inpatient, and outpatient setting. Support the specialist pharmacist service provided to a cancer unit and multi-professional team, providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care through ward and clinic-based pharmacy service, and attendance at appropriate ward rounds, clinics, and meetings.
