A opportunity has arisen for a Reception Services Team Leader based at Wansbeck General Hospital, and to cover Morpeth View Reception.

Applications are invited from candidates who hold good communication and organisational skills in order to meet the varying demands of the role. The successful candidate will assist in the development and improvement of the centralised service as well as supporting the department in the development to a digital patient record.

The successful candidate must be flexible and able to adjust to the requirements of the service to cover various shifts, including weekends and Bank Holidays often at short notice as required, and be prepared to travel to and work at other sites within the Trust as the service demands.

Candidates will be required to work alongside Team Leaders based at other sites within the Trust as well as the Team Leaders based at Seaton Delaval centralised library to ensure an effective service is maintained.

Team Leaders are responsible for the daily supervision, co-ordination and training of staff within the department, therefore must have proven knowledge and experience in Health Records practice to ensure all of the required targets are met and that a high-quality service is provided.

The successful candidate will be required to work closely with colleagues in the Health Records Department as well as other wards and departments across the Trust, deal with queries received from wards and departments within the Trust as well as queries from external sources.

Accurately inputting patient data onto the Patient Administration System (PAS)

The successful applicant will work to ensure that they organise their own workload, plan the department daily workload and organise staff to ensure that reception areas are covered at all times to provide excellent customer care to enhance the patient experience. Provide an efficient reception service to include the retrieval and dispatch of patient case notes in a timely manner to meet the needs of clinicians across the Trust.



The post will be based at Wansbeck however there will be occasions when the successful individual will be required to work at other sites within the Trust.



Applicants must be able to demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills as well as a good knowledge of the Data Protection Act and how this relates to the Health Records Department.
