What You’ll Do
As our Sales & Retention Manager, you’ll ensure financial sustainability by driving strategic sales plans, innovating revenue streams, and leading membership growth and retention efforts. Your work will directly support our mission to make physical activity accessible to all, impacting our community’s health and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic solutions to support the expansion and efficient operation, including the introduction of new membership products, services, or programmes.
- Lead acquisition campaigns, analyse trends, and implement retention strategies to grow membership and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Monitor large amounts of data and review the targets to determine customer behaviour, market trends, and competitor activity.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts and lead annual pricing reviews.
- Mentor and upskill front-of-house teams to deliver seamless customer experiences.

Essential Qualifications & Experience & Skills
- Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Leisure Management, or equivalent, or substantial experience in a comparable role.
- Proven track record in sales management, ideally in leisure, health & fitness, or hospitality, with success in exceeding commercial targets.
- Significant experience in customer retention, including loyalty programmes and retention metrics analysis.
- Strong knowledge of sales techniques (B2C/B2B, lead generation, upselling/cross-selling).
- Expertise in CRM systems for tracking sales and customer interactions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and present to varied audiences.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on creativity and innovation.
- Ability to analyse complex sales, performance, and financial data to drive strategic decisions.

Working Arrangements
This is a hybrid role with time spent between our head office in Meadowbank Sports Centre and home working. You’ll travel across Edinburgh to visit our venues, meet colleagues and partners, and attend events or training.
