Summary
An opportunity has arisen for two appointments to the role of Practice Learning Facilitator within the North West School of Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation. The role will enable the successful candidates to work as part of the team to support pharmacy education reforms, and on a number of well-established work streams within the Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation Workforce transformation agenda in the region. The PLFs will also be tasked with developing new initiatives and programmes to further develop our strong training and development ethos.
We are looking for pharmacy technician educators to work with the Regional Lead and existing team to support the infrastructure to quality assure programmes to ensure a consistent and integrated approach to developing education and training, across sectors. The successful PLFs will be accountable, through the Integrated PTPT Facilitation Manager, School of Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation, and is responsible for providing professional leadership, together with expertise, advice and support.
The Pharmacy Practice Learning Facilitators are accountable to the Pharmacy Dean, through the local office Pharmacy Technician and Support Staff Senior Manager, and will support the development and quality assurance of the following:
• Pharmacy Education & Training Local Office
• Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technician Programme
• Foundation Pharmacy Technicians
• Non-registered pharmacy staff
• Non-registered staff non-pharmacy staff
• Patient and Public Involvement initiatives
• Pharmacy Technical Services Workforce
• Future roles of Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Support Staff
The post holders will be responsible for the promotion and improvement of pharmacy practice placement and work-based learning quality and capacity across the local office area.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

Applicants should be registered pharmacy professionals, will need significant prior experience in developing and delivering training and must have strong presentation and training delivery skills. The applicant should be able to work to a high level, working both independently but also engaging others in the team and be able to work at both a local and regional level.
