Overview

We are excited to invite a passionate and skilled CNC Machine Setter to join our growing and inclusive team in the aerospace industry. The CNC Machine Setter will play an integral role in delivering high-quality components for our cutting-edge aerospace projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with expertise in CNC Milling, CNC Turning, and experience with HAAS & FANUC machines.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC Milling and Turning machines, including HAAS and FANUC systems, in line with engineering specifications.
• Read, interpret, and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering information for precise machining.
• Conduct machine setups, including fixture placement, calibration, and tooling changes for efficient operations.
• Perform quality checks on completed components to ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and tolerances.
• Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with engineers and teammates to optimize machining processes and enhance productivity.
• Document and maintain records of setup procedures, operations, and quality assessments.
• Support a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture.

Qualifications

Required:

• Strong experience in CNC Milling and CNC Turning.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings.
• Hands-on knowledge and proficiency in setting up HAAS & FANUC CNC machines.
• Previous experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment, ideally in aerospace or a similar industry.
• Familiarity with GD&T and tight-tolerance machining.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality output.

Day-to-day

• Start your day by reviewing your daily tasks and engineering drawings for upcoming projects.
• Set up CNC Milling or Turning machines and ensure tools required for jobs are calibrated and ready.
• Perform machining operations, producing high-precision aerospace parts to exact specifications.
• Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure adherence to required tolerances and guidelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges to meet production timelines efficiently.
• Participate in team discussions to identify areas of improvement in the machining process.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation to foster a safe and productive work environment.
• Engage with colleagues in a collaborative and respectful manner to achieve shared goals.

The working hours are 07:00-16:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:00-12:00 Friday.

The starting pay rate is £14-£16/h (depending on skills & experience) with optional overtime available.
