A Vacancy at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust.
As a senior nurse in the directorate the Associate Director of Nursing and Quality will carry responsibility to act as a strong role model for all colleagues by demonstrating credibility and visibility, strong commitment to identifying development opportunities, celebrating success, and encouraging creativity, innovation, and excellence in practice.
This will be achieved by demonstrating strong compassionate leadership and holding joint responsibility with the Deputy Medical Director for Mental Health’s agenda’s, Clinical Governance and Compliance standards across the directorate; thus, supporting the Associate Director of Operations Services for CYP in the directorate and working in collaboration with the Trust leads in theseareas.
The role will include effective regional networking and implementation of national policy with and external organizationalbodies, including the engagement with Integrated Care Boards and providing assurance on the quality of services.
The Associate Director of Nursing will promote a positive culture of learning and openness and ensure clinical staff across the directorate have the knowledge, capability, systems and support to embed lessons learned in practice for the improvement of patient care. This includes leading on quarterly Directorate Learning Lessonsevents and the promotion of positive cultures within teams and the directorate.
The post holder will work with the Trust Leads in the following areas:
• Protection of children and young people (CYP) with care and support needs – to promote and safeguard the welfare of CYP with care and supportneeds.
• Implementation of NICE guidance and other statutory / best practice guidelines. (ifappropriate)
• Infection Control - To be responsible for the prevention and control ofinfection
• Incident reporting - To report any incidents of harm or near miss in line with the Trust’s incident reporting policy ensuring appropriate actions are taken to reduce the risk of reoccurrence. learning from incidents in a broader context Trustwide
• Risk Management - To contribute to the identification, management and reduction of risk in the area ofresponsibility.
• Clinical Audit and Effectiveness - To ensure day to day practice reflects the highest standards of governance, clinical effectiveness, safety and patientexperience.
• Health, Safety and Security - to be aware of the responsibility of all employees to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients/ clients, visitors andstaff.

As an experienced and credible nurse the Associate Director of Nursing and Quality will be able to positively influence and support the development of, nurses and other non-medical disciplines in the delivery and improvement of services to patients. This willbeachieved through facilitating learning and development of nursing and non-medical staff, including working in partnership with other organisations. This will include taking a lead role in the development of clinical development pathways through training and competency frameworks.
The Associate Director of Nursing for Children Services will lead on the safety and quality agenda for services to ensure high levels of patient safety, patient experience and professional standards of care. The role will take responsibility for the management of the Heads of Nursing and Clinical Leads/Matrons for the Directorate to ensure a robust structure of audits, oversight and assurance. The role will be responsible for engaging with the Clinical Quality Directorate, as well as engaging with the Director of Nursing, Chief Nurse and Director of Children services. Demonstrating a high level of communication, both verbally and written, the post hold will provide assurance in a range of ways, as well as ensuring Children services are prepared and performing at a high level, achieving the Key Lines of Enquiry standards, supporting innovation, supporting practice development and developing initiatives.
