Summary
The main duties of the job include administering and scoring neuropsychological assessments. Therefore having familiarity and knowledge about how neuropsychological assessments assist in the understanding of cognitive impairment is essential, although you do not need to have direct clinical experience of administering them. The role also includes ensuring all localities have access to appropriate test materials and good organisation skills are important. The Assistant Psychologist will prepare activities and materials for a manualised group programme and then co-facilitate sessions alongside colleagues in the MAS. Regular supervision will be offered by a Clinical Psychologist and active engagement with the supervisory process is expected. This role involves a significant amount of direct clinical work and enthusiasm for, or experience of working with older people is desirable.
