Summary
We are looking for a Ward Clerk to join Ward 10 Frailty Unit, working to support the 2 areas of the ward. The successful candidate will be welcoming and act as the focal point of administrative communications for the Ward, taking all telephone enquiries, personal callers/visitors and directing patients where necessary.
The shift is from Monday to Friday 7:30 hours a day.
The post holders would need to provide a courteous, efficient and professional ward clerk service, making a valuable contribution to support patient care from the time of admission, transfer or discharge. The successful candidates would be the first contact point for all ward visitors and members of the multi-professional team so good interpersonal skills are essential.
We are looking for well-organized, enthusiastic individuals to work within our dynamic team, helping us to ensure our forward behaviours are met and that care is delivered to the highest standard.
You will need to be able to work flexibly and apply a methodical approach to a varying workload in what can be a fast paced, pressurized environment. You should be self-motivated, have excellent communication/interpersonal skills and have the ability to work on your own as well as part of a busy team where the work can be deadline driven.
Previous NHS clerical experience is desirable and administrative and keyboard skills would be an advantage. The successful candidate will need an excellent telephone manner and must be able to deal efficiently with members of the public and all disciplines of hospital staff.
