Summary
Stanmore Contractors is looking for a highly organised and detail-driven Façade Material Buyer to join our procurement team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key role in supporting the delivery of complex construction projects.
In this role, you will be responsible for procuring a wide range of façade-related materials, including cladding, brackets, steelwork, and ancillary items such as fixings, plant, and drill bits. Working closely with our design, construction, and estimating teams, you will ensure that all materials are sourced competitively, delivered on time, and meet the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Reviewing material specifications from internal teams, ensuring clarity and accuracy prior to procurement.
Sourcing competitive quotations and conducting price comparisons across cost, lead times, quality, and supplier reliability.
Negotiating with suppliers to achieve best value whilst maintaining compliance and quality standards.
Placing and managing daily material orders in line with project requirements.
Liaising with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and resolving any issues that may arise.
Reporting regularly on procurement activities, including cost analysis and supplier performance.
Ensuring all purchased materials comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulations.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in procurement, material buying, or supply chain management within construction, ideally in the façade sector.
Strong knowledge of façade materials, including cladding, brackets, and steelwork.
Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
Ability to interpret and analyse design drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate cost comparisons.
Proficiency in procurement software, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant tools.
Effective communicator with strong problem-solving abilities.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
