Summary

For informal enquiries, please contact Saskia Bakker (Advanced Bioimaging RTP Manager) at s.bakker@warwick.ac.uk

We are looking for a dedicated researcher to join us on an exciting international collaboration developing correlative soft X-ray tomography (SXT) applications for medical diagnostic purposes. In addition to soft X-ray tomography and correlative imaging using fluorescence and EM imaging you will be carrying out cell and tissue culture, in vitro infection studies, complementary imaging techniques, plunge-freezing and development of a novel biopsy-to-imaging pipeline. You will also be involved in the development and prototyping of new micro-biopsy tools for cryogenic imaging and volume analysis of tissue at near-physiological states.

You will have a PhD in a relevant subject area and be enthusiastic about developing new technology. You will have engaged with multi-disciplinary and multi-national research activities and have a proven track record of effective collaborative skills. This research project requires the ability to manage your own time and resources effectively and communicate well with colleagues and collaborators at the home institute and at other institutes nationally and internationally. Your responsibilities will include developing cell assays, advanced microscopy techniques, sample holders for cryogenic imaging, image processing and volume data analysis.
