Summary
Pinnacle Group are looking for a dedicated and proactive Facilities Officer to join our Maintenance Services team at the Basildon Centre.
This hands-on role is essential to ensuring the smooth daily operation, safety, and cleanliness of the building. From conducting routine inspections and supporting contractors to responding to maintenance issues and assisting during emergencies, the Facilities Officer plays a key part in maintaining a high standard of service across the site.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining safe, clean, and well-functioning environments. As a key member of our facilities team, you’ll play a vital role in keeping the building running smoothly and supporting both staff and visitors.
Hours for this position will vary – earliest start time is 7am and the latest finish will be 4pm and you will be required to work every other Saturday. This will be a temporary position until the middle of December.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct building checks across all floors, basement, roof, and external areas for safety, cleanliness, and functionality.
- Inspect fire panels, lifts, lighting, water coolers, and fire exits.
- Maintain waste management and refill hygiene supplies.
- Support meeting room setups and ensure tidy shared spaces.
- Perform water hygiene checks, sprinkler and generator tests.
- Manage confidential and paper waste disposal.
- Ensure car park and building perimeter are clear.
- Assist contractors and internal departments.
- Provide security cover and emergency support.
- Carry out fire alarm tests and general repairs (e.g., lighting, drainage, lift issues).
- Manage cleaning stock and support ad-hoc cleaning tasks.
Key Requirements
- Experience in facilities or building maintenance.
- Basic understanding of BMS systems and fire safety protocols.
- Ability to carry out manual handling tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility to work weekends and respond to emergencies.
