Summary
We have an opportunity to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Science Technician. Experience in the methodology of standard practicals is essential, along with awareness of the Health & Safety requirements of the role.
The successful candidate will:
Be responsible for ensuring that a safe, effective and efficient laboratory technical service is provided for use by students and teaching staff.
Provide technical advice and assistance in the classroom to support students and to assist teaching staff.
Coordinate the use and development of practical resources and facilities within the science department.
Assist the head of department in the line management of all science technicians including their induction, training and performance management.
Ensure that health and safety requirements and other relevant regulations are in place and adhered to, including the completion and recording of necessary tasks.
The ideal candidate will be a team player with a forward thinking approach, have excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and be receptive to change.
