We are looking for a dynamic and friendly colleague to join the existing team atNorthwickPark Hospital.
The applicant will support the current team at Northwick Park and will be required toundertake general outpatient clinics, perform liaison work on the wards, contribute toadvice and guidance and triaging of referrals from the primary sector, as well assupervisingthe clinicalfellows andnurse specialists.
Approximately 1500 new outpatients are currently seen each year, and there is astronglocaldemandformoreaccess toaneurologicalopinion.
The department
The Department of Neurology at LNWUHT currently has a diverse team of 15 Consultant Neurologists across the three hospital sites, with 7 based at Northwick Park Hospital. We are privileged to have four specialist nurses working across the sites, 2 clinical fellows based at Northwick Park and a fully comprehensive Neurophysiology service at Central Middlesex Hospital; inclusive of 2.6 WTE physiologists and a supervising Neurophysiology Consultant.
The Medical Directorate views Neurology services to be a core need both inpatient and outpatient, within the local communities. The post will also be crucial in driving forward the development of Neurology services within the area. This will include the development of Nurse Specialist positions and working with the local Primary Care Trust to enhance access and quality of the service.
